The goal of the Respiratory Therapy department at DeWitt Hospital is to improve patients’ quality of life by improving their breathing.  We offer a wide range of services, both inpatient and outpatient, to all ages from pediatrics to seniors.  Our respiratory therapists work as a team with physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals to assess and treat many cardiopulmonary disorders such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), congestive heart failure, and pneumonia.

Therapeutic Services:

·         Oxygen therapy

·         Medication and aerosol delivery

·         Airway clearance therapies

·         Ventilator management (including CPAP and BIPAP)

Diagnostic Services:

·         Pulmonary Function Testing

·         Arterial Blood Gas

·         EKG

·         Holter Monitoring

·         Sleep Studies

We also offer patient education services such as tobacco cessation and disease self-management planning.
